a 2 day trip that involves a trip to the world famous floating islands of Uros on Lake Titicaca and a night in a family home on the island of Amantani.
Lake Titicaca Home Stay
Day 1. To the Lake
An early departure as our boat departs port at approx 8am. We take off on the boat across Lake Titicaca with direction of Uros, home of the Uros tribe. The people of Uros have been living on reed islands on Lake Titicaca for centuries.
After a visit to a local family and the chance to go on one of the reed boats we get back on our boat for the 3 and a half hour journey to Amantani where we will be paired with a local family.
After lunch we have the opportunity to climb to the top of the island and watch the sun set.
In the evening after dinner we get dressed up with our hosts iin the typical dress of the area before heading to the local town hall to listen to some music and have a dance.

Day 2. Taquile and Puno
We are up early to enjoy the breathtaking view from the peaceful island of Amantani before departing on our boat to the island of Taquile. Upon arrival to the port we have a 1 hour walk to the village centre where we can partake of a delicious lunch of Lake Titicaca trout and quinua soup. After our visit to the breathtaking island we return to our boat for the 4 hour trip back to Puno.
