Machu Picchu is the star of the show on any visit to Peru. Nestled in the Andes it is really a must visit on all the lists.
This is the recommended way to visit Machu Picchu as it is such an enormous site that to really understand and enjoy the citadel you need a bit more time.
Machu Picchu 2 days
Day 1. First Glimpse
Beginning with a 3 hour tour of Machu Picchu visiting the more well known architecturally significant areas of the site. After lunch your guide is available to visit other areas of the place, however if you want you can enjoy the afternoon on your own.
Day 2. Further Exploration
Today we visit the less visited areas of the site, depending on your requirements you can visit the Temple of the Moon, Huayna Picchu, The Sun Gate, the Inka Bridge or have your guide take you around the main city. Lunch is in the Tree house in Aguas Calientes. Depending on the trains available you will arrive back to Cusco in 4 hours.
